Alysse Castro Wins Sole Endorsement of the Alameda County Teachers Association in Race for County Superintendent of Schools
ALAMEDA — Alysse Castro, the Executive Director of SF County Schools, a former teacher and principal, announced the sole endorsement of the Alameda County Teachers Association today.
“I am honored that the Alameda County Teachers Association is choosing to support me over the incumbent in this race,” said Castro. “As a former teacher, I know the importance that teachers play not only in our classrooms but in our community. I look forward to working together to address the teacher shortage, provide life-changing education to our most vulnerable kids and ensure that all teachers have the resources needed to succeed today and in the future.”
Alysse was raised in California public schools and she has never left – she has spent her life working as an expert in Alternative Education that breaks the school-to-prison pipeline and changes lives for students, families, and communities. She served 25 years as a successful teacher, principal, and now the Executive Director of SF County Schools. She lives in Alameda with her partner John and dog Sprocket.
